Produce - Hearty Fresh Inc.

Hearty Fresh is one of the midwest's largest onion grower, packer, and shipper operations. We grow, store and pack onions in Michigan and import onions from all growing regions in order to be a year-round source of quality onions for our customers. Our modern facility contains multiple drying and storage rooms with in-floor air flow capable of handling bulk, crib, and palletized onions. We have onion grading lines that clean, size, and pack onions to our customers' exact specifications. We offer several private labels or our team can work with you to develop a label that meets your request. In addition, we can pack in bulk or direct-to-retail containers, including returnable plastic containers.

Did you know that the celery industry started right here in West Michigan? In the mid-1800's, area settlers found that celery grew well in the low-lying, mineral rich lands that surround Hearty Fresh for over 50 miles. Michigan celery is harvested and delivered to Hearty Fresh were it is cooled, processed, packaged and shipped to our customers and on their shelves only 24 hours after it was in the field. Our celery season begins in early July and extends until the first hard frost in the fall. When snow begins to fall in Michigan, Hearty Fresh sources celery from growers and partners in other growing regions in order to supply our customers with quality celery year-round.

Hearty Fresh Inc is centrally located to Michigan's apple country. 'The Ridge', as its known, is an amazing landscape of rolling orchards and family owned apple farms and packing sheds. Hearty Fresh is proud to be partnered with the best of the best when it comes to growers, packers, and shippers of quality Michigan apples. We work with our partners to offer over twenty varieties of Michigan apples from September through June. During the offseason, we supply Washington apples and import select varieties from Chile and New Zeeland. With our connections, we keep our customers supplied with fresh, quality apples year-round.
